This Tutor Agreement outlines the terms and conditions governing tutors providing services through Intellectra Tutoring. By registering and accepting tutoring assignments on the platform, you agree to comply with this agreement.
1. Role of the Platform
Intellectra Tutoring provides an online platform connecting tutors with students for one-to-one online tutoring sessions. Tutors operate as independent service providers and are not employees of Intellectra Tutoring.
2. Tutor Responsibilities
Tutors agree to:
Provide professional, respectful, and high-quality tutoring services.
Attend sessions on time and prepared.
Deliver lessons in a safe and professional online environment.
Maintain appropriate communication with students.
Prepare lesson materials as needed.
Support student learning ethically and responsibly.
Tutors must conduct themselves professionally at all times.
3. Independent Contractor Status
Tutors operate as independent contractors and are responsible for:
Their own taxes and legal obligations.
Maintaining their own equipment and internet access.
Compliance with local regulations where applicable.
This agreement does not create employment, partnership, or agency relationships.
4. No Private Contact Policy
To protect platform integrity:
Tutors must not exchange personal contact details with students or parents.
Tutors must not arrange lessons or payments outside the platform.
Tutors must not privately tutor students introduced through Intellectra Tutoring.
All communication and scheduling must occur through the platform.
Violation may result in immediate removal and possible financial penalties.
5. Payments, Compensation, and Platform Commission
Tutors are compensated according to session rates agreed upon within the platform.
Intellectra Tutoring charges a 50% commission on all tutoring session fees paid through the platform.
This means:
Students pay the full lesson fee through the platform.
Intellectra Tutoring retains 50% of the session fee as a platform commission.
Tutors receive the remaining 50% as their earnings.
Example:
If a lesson fee is AED 100, the tutor receives AED 50 and the platform retains AED 50.
Payments:
Are processed through the platform.
Are paid after successful completion of sessions.
May be withheld or adjusted in cases of disputes, cancellations, or policy violations.
Tutors must not accept direct payments from students.
6. Session Conduct and Professional Standards
Tutors must:
Maintain professional appearance and behavior.
Provide lessons in appropriate environments.
Avoid inappropriate discussions or content.
Not record sessions without permission.
Respect student privacy and confidentiality.
7. Cancellations and Attendance
Tutors agree to:
Provide advance notice if a session must be cancelled.
Avoid repeated cancellations or lateness.
Maintain reliability in scheduling.
Repeated cancellations may result in reduced assignments or account review.
8. Confidentiality
Tutors must keep all student information confidential and may not share personal or academic information outside the platform.
Confidential information must not be stored or used for personal purposes.
9. Performance Monitoring
Intellectra Tutoring may monitor tutor performance through student feedback, session records, and quality reviews to ensure service standards.
10. Account Suspension or Termination
Accounts may be suspended or terminated for:
Violating platform policies.
Unprofessional behavior.
Repeated cancellations or complaints.
Attempting to bypass the platform.
Misconduct or safety concerns.
Termination may occur without prior notice in serious cases.
11. Intellectual Property
Teaching materials created by tutors remain their property unless otherwise agreed. Platform materials and branding remain the property of Intellectra Tutoring.
12. Limitation of Liability
Intellectra Tutoring is not liable for disputes arising outside the platform or for outcomes beyond its control.
Tutors are responsible for their professional conduct and service delivery.
13. Agreement Updates
Intellectra Tutoring may update this agreement as necessary. Continued tutoring activity on the platform indicates acceptance of updated terms.
